On Saturday, Holly, Lula, and I ventured out for some culture in Redding. Redding really lacks good restaurants, but this little place (Oregon Street Tea Company) was quite fun. I must admit the place was girly, there was a baby shower going on while we were there, but the tea was most excellent and the food was pretty yummy too. Every month they change their menu, but they have a ton of teas to pick from. We had a butterscotch caramel toffee tea on Saturday and it was delicious.
It's been an absolute gorgeous weekend, so I'm going to try to get out today for a bit. I'm sorry for all you Cincinnatians who are freezing, but you know you're welcome to visit. It's 70 and sunny right now and for the rest of the week...
We had the best speaker so far this year at school on Thursday and Friday. His name was Sy Rogers and he speaks mainly on sexual themes as he calls them. He has an incredible story including living as a gay man and then as a woman in preparation for a sex change. He didn't have the operation and was subsequently saved by Jesus. He's now been married for 25 years and has a daughter and travels the world talking to people about some of the issues around sexuality. His perspective on how to treat people struggling with sexual identity issues or sexual traumas was amazing. Good stuff.
Okay, I've procrastinated long enough. Time to write a book report. Chao for now.
